Αὐτὸς Ἔσδρας ἀνέβη ἐκ Βαβυλῶνος, καὶ αὐτὸς γραμματεὺς ταχὺς ἐν νόμῳ Μωυσῆ, ὃν ἔδωκε Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς Ἰσραήλ· καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ βασιλεὺς, ὅτι χεὶρ Κυρίου Θεοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐπʼ αὐτὸν ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐζήτει αὐτός.

Ezra himself went up from Babylon, and he was a swift scribe in the law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel gave, and the king gave to him because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him in all that he sought.
