Καὶ εἶπεν Ἀβεννὴρ πρὸς Δαυὶδ, ἀναστήσομαι δὴ καὶ πορεύσομαι καὶ συναθροίσω πρὸς κύριόν μου τὸν βασιλέα πάντα Ἰσραὴλ· καὶ διαθήσομαι μετʼ αὐτοῦ διαθήκην, καὶ βασιλεύσεις ἐπὶ πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχή σου. Καὶ ἀπέστειλε Δαυὶδ τὸν Ἀβεννὴρ, καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν εἰρήνῃ.

And Abner said to David, I will indeed arise and go and gather all Israel to my lord the king, and I will make a covenant with him, and you will reign over all that your soul desires. And David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.
